What phrase in the Declaration of Independence stands out to you? Could you convey these statements artistically? Seven local artists did just that as part of the Society’s America 250 Public Art contest this spring. The artwork conveys the concepts of shared community values, civic identity, equality, fairness, belonging, individual rights, the purpose and process of government, civic commitment, and the duty to life.
The panels will be on display at the Harford History Center July 6 through the 8th from 10 am – 4 pm. On July 9, the panels will be moved to the fence line along Gordon Street, adjacent to the Harford History Center, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony slated for 2 pm, providing a long-term outdoor display for the community.
