The Historical Society of Harford County preserves, protects, and shares the rich history and heritage of Harford County, Maryland. Through exhibits, programs, and community partnerships, we connect people to the stories that shaped our region and inspire a deeper appreciation of its past.

Founded in 1885, the Society is the oldest county historical organization in Maryland. Its collections have grown to include thousands of photographs, artifacts, and archival records documenting centuries of local history.

Today, the History Center operates from its headquarters in Bel Air, where visitors can explore exhibitions, conduct research, and engage with Harford County’s story through events, educational programs, and resources for all ages.

ADMISSION
$5.00 for non-members to conduct research.
Free for members of the Historical Society of Harford County and children 4 years old and under
